Besides trying to provide anti racism/discrimination/homophobia etc. throughout our school, we are now beginning to provide a "Random Acts of Kindness" network. From the "Free Hugs" video, we were so touched that now we do free hugs before school once a month as well as handing out free hot chocolate and cookies (kind of a random act of kindness thing). I know there was one person who was reflecting back on it and shared that at the time she was debating weither to come teach that day for various reasons, and the showed up but embrassed with all of these hugs and so forth..and it made her day. I though I'd just share that with you. As well we've decided to take our program out into the city, and in a few days we are planning a "Free Hugs/Random Acts of Kindness/Pay it Forward" four or so hour event downtown the [30] of us, will be spreading the love, to the people of our city, the homeless, the elderly and everyone who deserves some kindness. By the way this program is run by the students grade 9 through 12.
